Amphibious Energy is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract to deploy its ICCP-Pod technology as part of a large-scale offshore decommissioning project in the Bass Strait. This initiative is part of one of the most significant offshore decommissioning efforts ever undertaken globally.

The contract follows a 6 month pilot program in which the ICCP-Pod, developed by Amphibious Energy in collaboration with CORROSION, successfully demonstrated its reliability in challenging offshore conditions. The ICCP-Pod combines Amphibious Energy’s EnergyPod renewable power technology with CORROSION’s Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) system to deliver sustainable and reliable power for corrosion protection, eliminating the need for diesel generators.

The initial phase of the project will see ICCP-Pods deployed to support three offshore platforms, with the potential for additional installations as decommissioning progresses.

“We are pleased and proud that a renowned O&G operator of the Bass Strait, is pursuing sustainability and did assign Amphibious an important role in this.” said Willem van der Merwe, Managing Director of Amphibious Energy. “In this project, the ICCP-Pod has proven that cost savings and sustainability do not have to be mutually exclusive.” He also noted “The Pod does its job, is virtually maintenance-free and can be monitored and controlled remotely. Very cost effective for long decom campaigns that often take even longer than expected

This deployment highlights a growing industry shift toward sustainable offshore decommissioning, with renewable energy solutions playing an increasingly vital role in reducing environmental impact and operational costs.
