Is the Energy Pod offshore approved?
Each component of the Energy Pod is made of offshore approved materials to withstand harsh weather conditions. Energy Pods that will be deployed offshore will also come with a DNV 2.7.1 and 2.7.2 certificate. This will allow the use of the Energy Pod for Zone 2 applications.
Do you deliver abroad?
Yes, Amphibious Energy delivers worldwide.
Does the Energy Pod only come with a 3kW generator?
No, the Energy Pod can also be delivered with a 5kW or 10kW generator.
How much energy does one Energy Pod generate?
This depends on the amount of wind at any given time. The minimum amount of energy generated by a 3kW generator is 3500 kWh in the Southern North Sea environment, which delivers 280W minimum continuous load. It also depends on the amount of batteries the Energy Pod contains to store the energy produced during peak wind times.
Can the Energy Pod also deliver peak load?

Yes, the Energy Pod can be configured to deliver either continuous load and/or peak load. Please contact us to discuss your load requirements.

You said the that Energy Pod is configureable. What information would you require to configure the pod for its application?

To configure the most suitable generator for your needs we would need, if available, the following information:

  • Offshore or onshore use
  • Wind speed
  • Wind speed consistency
  • Amount of batteries
  • Number of turbines
  • Number of solar panels
  • Sun position
  • Ambient temperature
  • Size restrictions
  • Load requirements (continuous or peak load system)
  • AC or DC requirements

Can we use the Hybrid Energy Pods offshore?

Yes, the Hybrid Energy Pods can be used offshore. The Hybrid Energy Pods will have the same offshore parts and certifications. The only difference is that the Hybrid Pods will require shorter maintenance intervals due to cleaning of the solar PV panels.

Can you explain the Energy Pods maintenance schedule?
Each offshore Energy Pod will either have a one year or a two year maintenance interval depending on its use. Shorter intervals are recommended for systems that require regular peak load. It can also be scheduled with the operators maintenance interval for the topside. The EMS will also report what type of maintenance is required before each interval. The Hybrid Pods will have shorter intervals, every 6-10 months, due to cleaning of the panels.
Can the operator perform the maintenance themselves?

Yes, with the purchase of an Energy Pod comes a one day training, which includes maintenance of the unit. In addition, Amphibious Energy will support and advice operators on maintenance timings and which parts need replacing prior to a maintenance interval.
